Below are highlights of what some of the 9-1-1 Centers throughout the GHC 9-1-1 territory did for Teelcommunicator Week.
Deer Park Police Department
Deer Park Police Department recognized their Telecommunicators at a special luncheon in their honor yesterday. Telecommunicator Hope Buck was recognized as Employee of the Month. 9-1-1 Coordinator Cyndi Sauter put a slide show together that showed her wonderful team throughout the years. The City Manager joined and read the resolution from the GHC 9-1-1 Board of Managers. “I am grateful to have a great team of people,” said Ms. Sauter. Happy National Telecommunicator Week!
Capt. Jim Pokluda, Lt. Wayne Stark, Irene Walger and Jennifer Williams, honored their call takers all throughout the week. One day they gave them a shirt, and on another day each shift had a pizza and coke party, cupcake cake one day, and then on Friday they were allowed to wear their new t-shirt instead of their uniform
Humble Police Department
Humble Police Department hosted an open house on Wednesday, April 13 from 10:00 – 2:00 p.m. The public was invited to meet the dispatchers, tour the communications center and enjoy cookies and punch. Also, The Kingwood Observer published a wonderful article titled “Dispatchers form the backbone of emergency operations.” Way to Go Humble PD!

Pasadena Police Department
Every day of the week, the Pasadena recognized their emergency communications personnel. Every day of the week, we made little candy goodies and handed them out. Friday, April 15 they are having a catered Italian dinner along with cake and punch, for our TC's and their families. Here are some pics of the goodies that were handed out or placed in the mailboxes for each day of the week.
Great Job League City Police Department!
The League City Police Department held an awards presentation on Monday, April 11, 2011. Chief Michael Jez presented the call takers with plaques and recognized them for being nominated and/or selected as Telecommunicator of the Year and Silent Heroes. Chief Jez recognized all of the call takers for their valuable contributions. He event said that it takes a very special person do this job and he didn’t think he could even do what they do. GHC 9-1-1 will also be recognizing these individuals at its April Board of Managers meeting. They also had a special cake made for all of the call takers and dispatchers. The best part was a special goodie bag filled with surprises was given to all of the call takers.
