of the Houston Emergency Center

Houston Emergency Center
Deanna Tennyson

9-1-1 Training Manager, Deanna Tennyson was recognized by the GHC 9-1-1 Board of Managers on Wednesday, March 28 for over 26 years of service to 9-1-1. Ms. Tennyson was also recognized at a reception in her honor at the Houston Emergency Center on Thursday, March 29, 2012.

There are not many individuals who can truly say that they were there when the first 9-1-1 call was answered in the City of Houston, but Deanna Tennyson is one of them. Deanna Tennyson began her career with 9-1-1 as one of the four original PSAP Supervisors at Houston City Neutral on December 23, 198.

Ms. Tennyson has also worked as the Training Coordinator, TCLEOSE Instructor, Administrative Manager over Training and then the Division Manager over Training at the Houston Emergency Center.

She was instrumental in the development of the procedures and protocol for handling of police related calls and she has spent over 26 years developing and enhancing the training program for 9-1-1 and police call taking. Her dedication and tenacity has helped to implement processes and enhance 9-1-1 service for the City of Houston.

Her commitment and tireless efforts have contributed greatly to the excellent service that GHC 9-1-1 and the Houston Emergency Center have been able to provide to our citizens. GHC 9-1-1 Staff and Board of Managers wishes Ms. Tennyson well in her future endeavors.
