GHC 9-1-1 Board of Managers Recognize
Andrea Prothow

Andrea Prothow of AT&T was recognized by the GHC 9-1-1 Board of Managers at its meeting on December 6, 2014. Ms. Prothow retired recently from AT&T. Ms. Prothow began working with GHC 9-1-1 and other 9-1-1 entities across the state of Texas in 1999 as the primary contact on many telco-related issues. She has worked very closely with GHC 9-1-1 on numerous projects over the years.

Ms. Prothow was instrumental in working with GHC 9-1-1 on several large projects including: the implementation of the Houston Emergency Center, and the implementation of one of the first Network wide 9-1-1 equipment upgrade installations—the Vesta Meridian at GHC 9-1-1 PSAPs. In addition, she has helped with the planning and preparation for several large-scale contingency events including Y2K, Super Bowl, hurricane preparedness, and other service related issues.

She has been a true advocate for GHC 9-1-1, always working very thoroughly to get answers and solve problems. She was always available if needed, even providing her home phone for GHC 9-1-1 staff to contact her. Ms. Prothow’s “take charge” attitude has made a lasting impression on the GHC 9-1-1 staff that will not be forgotten.

The staff at GHC 9-1-1 is grateful for her attention to detail and dedication to emergency communications. We wish her well with her retirement and future endeavors.
